Principal and Vice Principal’s Message
As we approach March Break and then return with only two weeks left in the month, it goes without saying that we all know how fast the final three months of school can go by. That being said, we obviously have a great deal of learning to do between now and the end of June. It is always a challenge to maintain the focus of children when the weather returns to more favourable conditions for getting outside and being active. Some would call this Spring Fever! With that in mind and the fact our temperatures seem to have turned into more spring-like conditions so early this year, we ask that you speak to your children about the need to remain focused when in class and complete assignments with care and on time. Thank you for your support as we continue to work together for your children.
On behalf of the entire staff of Elma Township Public School, I want to extend to all of you a safe and enjoyable March Break. We look forward to welcoming our students back on March 20th!

School Advisory Council
The next School Advisory Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m.
Our school basketball teams have started up once again with tryouts over the lunch hours. Good luck to all who are working hard to earn a spot on one of the teams. Once selected, the teams will begin practicing for the upcoming tournaments. The Junior Team will compete on April 6 and our Intermediate Teams will have their tournament on April 24 at F.E. Madill in Wingham.
Learning In Mathematics
Every year, as a staff we embark along a professional learning path with a focus on improving student learning. Our learning this year has been in the area of Mathematics. As you know, the Ministry of Education has made Mathematics a focus to improve outcomes for students in this subject area. We are often asked by parents what they can do to support their children’s learning in Math. Whereas Reading and Writing seem to naturally fit in with what we do at home, for some, Math may not occur as naturally. As such, we would like to provide you with a couple of resources that can be used, if you wish, to have fun with Math at home. The following links contain excellent resources for parents:
Thank you for your ongoing support to help your children achieve their fullest potential!
