Finally the weather is beginning to warm up. It has been a long winter and the students are excited to feel the warmth. This also marks having the end in sight! Please remind your children that there are still 2 months of learning to take place.
EQAO testing begins in May. Teachers of both the Grade 3 and 6 classes have been preparing for EQAO testing by working on practice reading, writing and math tests. You can also help by not making doctor, dental appointments etc. during the weeks of May 22 – June 4.
Recently a note was sent home encouraging parents to take part in a safe school survey. Students and teachers in Grades 4 – 6 have already taken part in this survey. We are asking for parents to also provide feedback to the school. The survey will be open until May 10 for parents to complete. This is extremely important information for the school. Feedback from the community, as well as from students and staff, help to shape direction for the school and provides us with valuable information. Please take the 20 minutes to complete this survey to help make EES a better place.

Coming soon to EES! After many years of planning and fundraising the new playground equipment will be soon installed. Thank you so much to our amazing School Council for all of their hard work and fundraising efforts and to the Avon Maitland District School Board for making this dream a reality. Over the summer months the old playground will be torn out and the new equipment installed ready for the first day of school. I know the students are very excited to see what awaits them in September!
Rick Van Maanen, Principal
We are pleased to announce that a team of 35 students in grades 1 through 6 will be performing at the upcoming Dance Showcase on May 17th at Seaforth Public School.
Ms MacPhee, Ms Zehr and Ms Carlyle had over 100 students try out during auditions, making selections extremely difficult. The Team will perform one choreographed song together with the other schools in attendance in a mass performance. They will also perform a choreographed dance of their own to showcase as well. The students have been practicing weekly in preparation for this and even had an opportunity to showcase their performance at our recent Talent Show. The energy and effort that these students have put into their work demonstrates their dedication and love for music and movement. Save the date!
School Council Spring Fundraising Orders will be available for pickup on May 8th from 2:30- 5:30 p.m. in the school gym. Please make arrangements to pick up orders during this time. Thanks to all that supported this fundraiser. Your support helps us to provide funds for school activities and equipment.
