My first year at Exeter Elementary School has been a complete pleasure and I thank you for the year-long welcome. As we begin to wrap things up for the 2018-19 school year we know that a number of activities and celebrations still await us; Track and Field, some School Trips, and our Spaghetti Dinner to name a few. Along with the fun though, our learning continues.
There is a PA Day on Friday, June 7, 2019, and there is no school for students that day.
The last day of school for students is Thursday, June 27, 2019.
Report cards will be sent home Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
Friday, June 30, 2019, is a PA Day for Staff.
Staffing for the 2019-2020 school year is still in progress and is still fluid.
The first day back to school is Tuesday, September 3, 2018. It is likely that we will use a similar process as we did last year to let students know which class they will be in for September, with refinements. Certainly, we will share the specifics on Facebook the last week in August. If it is raining, students will be welcomed into the gym and sorted into their classes from there.
If you are planning to move out of Exeter Elementary School area for the 2019-2020 school year, please contact the office at (519)-235-2630, and leave a message. If you know a family moving over the summer who plans to attend Exeter Elementary School in the fall, please ask them to call the school office to register, or suggest they register online. The sooner new students register for school the sooner we can start planning to ensure we meet all needs.
Come rain or come shine, our First Annual School Picnic will be June 25 from 12 – 12:45. Please meet your students in our backyard. Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and next year’s JKs are also welcome. Consider bringing a lawn chair or blanket, as well as your picnic lunch!
Police Checks are a must if you plan on volunteering at our school. Please attend to this immediately as I am unable to welcome parents and family members without them on field trips. Once your police check has been completed, a yearly affidavit is all that will be required assuming you have had no convictions since the original check was completed.
Again, thank you for a wonderful year.
Hoping you have a most relaxing summer with your students.

Thank you EES for another awesome year! We held so many successful events and fundraisers this year, thanks to you! Me to We helped educate students about community and global issues. Together, we made a difference for many lives locally and globally.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and support!
Me to We News
Treat Thursdays was a huge success! We raised over $800 for many Me to We initiatives, such as; providing funding to build schools in other countries. We look forward to this successful fundraiser next year again!
Just $25 gives one person clean water for life! How far would you walk to collect clean water for your family? Every day, women and children around the world spend 200 million hours fetching water from the only sources available—distant and often polluted lakes, rivers or streams.
We were overwhelmed and in awe of our EES students, families and staff. Together, we raised over $ 821.85, which vastly surpassed our goal of $350. The class that raised the highest percentage of money per students was Mrs. Campbell’s Kindergarten class, raising $87. The highest amount brought in was $94 from Mrs. Kyle and Ms. DesJardine’s Kindergarten class. They will all enjoy a pizza party to celebrate their efforts!
Show your school spirit for EES on Thursday June 6 by wearing the EES spirit wear or the school colours (green, yellow or black). Yay EES! We are proud to be Jr. Panthers!
Our last Wellness Wednesday for this school year will be on Wednesday June 19. Each student is asked to bring in a rock that we will be able to write on (so avoid pebbles). We will be doing a special activity with these rocks, so stay tuned for more details.
Have fun on our last spirit day of the school year on Friday June 21 and dress up for Beach Day! Show us that you are beach ready by wearing shorts, t-shirts, hats, towels etc. Please avoid wearing bathing suits and make sure your spirit day costume is appropriate for school. Have fun!
Thanks again for an awesome school year! See you in September!
Jump Rope for Heart
During the month of April, our school worked hard to get donations for our annual Jump Rope for Heart campaign in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We had a goal this year of $3500.00. It was therefore very exciting to see just how strongly our school community responded to this very worthy cause! The final total for donations raised online and in the envelopes was a whopping $3923.90!
Thanks so much to the surrounding community for their continued support of our Jump Rope campaign!
Track & Field
Our Track and Field meet was very successful this year with lots of participants and school spirit. Our students showed great teamwork and encouragement to each other to ensure everyone did their very best. Regional Track and Field will take place in St. Mary’s on June 11th, rain date on the 12th and District on June 18th in Goderich. In accordance to the Track and Field rules, the Grade 4 and 5 students will be grouped together to compete as Peewee students and the Grade 6 students will be under the Junior category. We wish all 33 of our competitors the best of luck. Go Panthers Go.
