Welcome to the Goderich Public School website, home of the Junior Vikings. Our school is a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 school, located on the edge of Lake Huron, proudly serving the town of Goderich and surrounding community.
Goderich Public School is the product of a rich educational history, built by generations of forward thinking community members with a deep understanding of the importance of a high quality, relevant education. Our staff is committed to continuing this tradition and is dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive environment where our students are not only always learning but are inspired, engaged, and innovative thinkers.
Partnerships make a difference and we are grateful for ours. Parents and guardians are encouraged to forge strong relationships with their student’s teacher and the school. Our School Council is a dynamic and energetic group committed to whole school improvement, while simultaneously promoting school spirit and just plain fun. New members are always welcome. Interested in volunteering during the school day? Please contact the school office for more information. Whether you are a volunteer cooking breakfast or preparing healthy snack bags, or a service group or business who rises to the occasion when a need becomes apparent, thank you! We couldn’t do it without you!
GPS is more than just a school, it is a full service community. Venture under our roof and you will find a blossoming Early Years Centre, complete with a public health nurse, as well as a busy before-and-after school program run by the Clinton Cooperative Childcare Centre. For more information about the activities of these partners please check the web links found under the resources tab.
