January 2018 Newsletter

Principal’s Message

Welcome back! All the best in 2018! I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday and are looking forward to the New Year. This is usually the time of year when new resolutions or goals are made. This is a good thing for you to discuss with your child(ren) and what they may wish to make improvements upon or changes at school.

Please be sure to label items that come to school. If there is a name on the clothing or item it is easier to return to the owner.

We hope for good weather as this month progresses, but if the weather does become ‘nasty’ please check for school bus delays or cancellations on our School website or the transportation website.

Our bus operators check Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Transportation websites; they talk with road superintendents and often travel the roads on mornings when weather looks questionable.

Students who walk to school should time their arrival for 8:45 a.m. There is no supervision before that time.  The decision to keep the school open is always made with student safety as our first concern.  As a parent, you have the right to keep your child(ren) home if the school is open and you feel the weather is unsafe.  If you decide to keep your child home we ask that you please call the school as this saves us time when we are completing our Safe Arrival as we must ensure the whereabouts of each student each day.

Remember our doors are always open should you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call or drop in for a visit.

With kind regards,
Ross MacSorley,
