Hello to all from Mornington Central School.
Thank you to all families who have supported the School Council Elmira Poultry/J.D. Sweid Chicken fundraiser. We will have delivery on April 20th. Details regarding specific pick up times will be provided at a later date.
Jump Rope for Heart
On Wednesday, April 11th we will have our Jump Rope for Heart kick off assembly. This annual event raises funds to support the Heart & Stroke Foundation while encouraging children to live healthy and active lives. Last year we raised over $500.00! Jump Rope for Heart raises funds for the Heart & Stroke Foundation and it raises money for much needed gym equipment for our school. Students are invited to take home pledge forms to get donations and to earn prizes or students may bring in a loonie or a toonie to put their name in for a draw of prizes. Our event will take place Thursday, May 17th weather permitting. Thank you in advance for your generous support.
We have more mint smoothie chocolates for sale for $2.00 each. They will be available during first nutrition break. They can be bought at the office.
Breakfast for Learning Program
We continue to serve a healthy breakfast to our students at Mornington Central School. Breakfast Club is a social time too, with all ages and grades interacting as they take ten minutes to enjoy their breakfast. What a great start to the day!
Our families are still sending in donations for the Breakfast Club, and we are very grateful for that, and also for the moms and staff who give up their time to come and prepare and serve breakfast. Without you, our program couldn’t run.
Many thanks go out to our sponsors: Breakfast For Learning (BFL), the President’s Choice Children’s Charity, Breakfast Clubs of Canada, and Tim Hortons in Listowel (Smile Cookie Campaign).
Lost & Found
We have quite a few articles of clothing in our Lost & Found box in the front hall. If your child(ren) are missing anything, please take a look next time you are at the school. Thank you.
Parents and Visitors
As board policy dictates, parents and visitors are asked to check in at the office when entering the school and not to go directly to classrooms. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
You can monitor local radio stations during inclement weather for the latest announcements on cancellations or delays.
