Dear North Easthope Families:
There were so many amazing academic inquiries happening during the month of October both inside and outside of the classroom at NEH. We celebrated Fire Safety Week this month and had some fire fighters from the Shakespeare Hall visit to spread a message about safety and home escape plans. We also have been learning with our peers and “buddies” about the world that we live in and many of the wonderful things that it has to offer. The Let’s Talk Science Team was at school over two days to present and support learning around different topics. The presenters were University of Waterloo students who have an area of expertise in science to share with our students. We also travelled to Tanzania with Jackson and his Papa, Doug Wagner, who were there as part of the Business Solutions to Poverty-Tanzania Learning Tour – Cassava Seed Project. Our October 31st Spirit Day donations as part of our ME To We group’s initiatives will go towards furthering this work.
We would like to extend a big thank you and congratulations to all of our student athletes, as well as coaches, Mrs. Wilkinson, Mlle. Miller, Ms. Hutchinson, Mr. Garland and all of our parent volunteers for their participation in both Cross Country and Soccer in October. Once again, our athletes demonstrated dedication, team work and a positive attitude as they represented the North Easthope Eagles. Go Eagles Go!!
Thanks as well to our Eagle families who supported the Thanksgiving Food Drive for the House of Blessing in Stratford. The students collected and donated over 300 items.
We also enjoyed our first Fresh Friday lunch. All students who wanted received a pasta and sauce meal complete with a bun and beverage. Thanks to Julie Moore and Tonia Streicher for organizing this new event for our students and for all of our volunteers who helped to prepare and serve.
We also had a fun night of Math games and learning at our School Council Family Math Night. It was an interactive night of trying new math based activities and having fun with friends and families. Thanks to Melissa Hinds and School Council volunteers for organizing this school event.
We will host our Remembrance Day assembly on Friday, November 9th at 10 a.m. in the gym. Parents and family members are welcome to join us for this service. Thanks to Mrs. Hinz for preparing our students for this very important event.

This month, we are looking forward to welcoming our 2019-20 Kindergarten students to our Calling All Three Year Old program on Thursday, November 29.
Our next School Council meeting will be on Thursday, November 8th at 6:30 p.m. New members are always welcome. Student volunteers will provide childcare if requested. Please call the office if you are in need of childcare.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or celebrations, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.
